At one of the most prestigious international competitions in the spirits industry — the Frankfurt International Spirits Trophy — Wise Grus won no fewer than two golds and a silver. The gold medals went to Dunja and Lozovača, while Šljivovica took silver.

The Frankfurt International Spirits Trophy is a renowned international competition that gathers producers from around the world. It is held in Frankfurt, Germany, and judges a range of categories including wines, beers and spirits.

Winning a medal at this competition is a great honour and recognition for any producer — proof of quality, competence and expertise. To win three medals, two gold and one silver, is an exceptional achievement, especially for a relatively young player on the market such as Wise Grus of Daruvar.

Traditional preparation and locally grown ingredients are brought together in a superb product of attractive appearance and taste that rightly deserves a medal.Wise Grus

The 7th edition at the Palmengarten

The seventh edition of the Frankfurt international competition was held in the historic hall of Frankfurt's Palmengarten from 14 to 15 April 2023. The organiser brought together more than 500 tasters who judged wines, beers and spirits. The jury was made up of experts such as sommeliers and oenologists, along with enlightened amateurs representing the tastes of future consumers.

Over the course of the competition, 4,120 samples were assessed, and 1,320 in total were awarded a medal — among them 182 Grand Gold, 876 Gold and 262 Silver.

From the very start of the business, the goal of the founders of Wise Grus has been to present their brandy on foreign markets and make it recognisable far beyond our borders. These awards already bring those goals within reach — proof that Croatian producers can craft superb brandies comparable to the finest in the world.
